This morning I woke up at 6:45 to run before work. I woke up earlier than normal when I run because it’s supposed to be 2516587441 degrees today and I am not a fan of running in that. I still ended up looking like this:
The good news is that my knee isn’t bothering me. So now I am 3 for 3 on runs without pain. Typically I would be able to feel it around mile 3 or 4, but it wasn’t until I got into higher mileage that it really became an acute problem. So as my distance restriction is increased, I will have a better idea of just how well I am doing. Fingers crossed.
Now for this weekend’s eats. Like I recapped on Monday, I went out with a lot of girlfriends so there were lots of opportunities for variety. Check out Jenn’s blog for what What I Ate Wednesday is all about and even to add a link of your own!
My breakfasts are always the same, so I’m not going to bore you with the same pictures. Scrambled eggs & mushrooms with a chocolate blueberry basil smoothie and a glass of water mixed with apple cider vinegar.
Saturday there were two lunches because we had a graduation party to go to first and then I met my friend for lunch at Tyson’s. Below is my lunch from Le Pain Quotidien. It is some kind of 7 layer vegetable thing with buckwheat crust which means it is also gluten-free. It was delicious. That was followed up by a Belgian Brownie that we split. Not gluten-free, but so good.
The graduation lunch was at the same restaurant that catered the Indian food for our reception. I ate a lot of chicken and veggies.
Sunday lunch was a trip to Wegmans. I loaded up on all sorts of vegetable slaws and mixtures. Also I can never have enough mushrooms.
Saturday night we went to another couple’s house where they made a beet, basil, and mint salad, steak, roasted beets, and grilled bok choy. It was fantastic. Good thing we like beets.
Sunday night a friend and I got Thai food and I got the same thing I always do: chicken, BASIL, and vegetables. I asked them to make it “Thai spicy” and ended up going through 3 tissues. I hope people didn’t think she was breaking up with me as I cried and blew my nose. It was spicetastic.
I got mango sticky rice for dessert because it is obligatory whenever I get Thai food, but I love it so much that I inhaled it.
I went to a new bakery where they have a big selection of vegan and gluten free cupcakes. I got this GF/DF chocolate one. It was good in that it tasted like a normal cupcake. It was bad in that I don’t like normal cupcakes and I was anticipating the delicious fudginess of a flourless cupcake. If you like regular cupcakes though and have these dietary restrictions, then this is the place for you!
I am still smothering dates in almond butter and eating them like crazy. I CAN’T STOP.
